Located in metropolitan Cleveland, Ohio, we work with law firms and corporation law department clients, and with attorneys, on local, regional, and national levels.  As an attorney, Jim Mayer specializes in the recruitment of attorneys at all levels, from associate to partner and general counsel. He understands the hiring expectations, pressures, and deadlines of law firms and corporate law departments. He knows how to navigate through the legal marketplace and identity top-notch legal and leadership talent. 

 Jim has served as Counsel for a Fortune 500 firm, as Secretary and General Counsel of a private manufacturer, and in private practice representing business owners and high net-worth individuals. As in-house counsel, he has advised division presidents on antitrust and triple net lease matters, and retained prominent private counsel to consult on tax treaties and out-of-state litigation.

 Having served as Director-Legal Search for a national search firm, Jim left that firm to launch W. James Legal Search, LLC. He has successfully placed candidates in key roles at law firms and corporation law departments, and can provide a reference list of satisfied clients.
